Guacamelee! is a Metroidvania-style action-platformer set in a magical world inspired by traditional Mexican culture and folklore. The game features melee combat, parallel dimensions and same-screen co-op. The original Guacamelee! received wide critical acclaim and was a finalist for both IndieCade and the Independent Games Festival’s Excellence in Visual Art award.

The additional DLC costumes can be purchased in-game with a new silver currency provided after clearing rooms. It also contains two new stages exclusive for this version: Canal de las Flores with a besieged town and the volcanic Pico de Gallo, integrated into the main game and also tied to the story. There is also a new boss called El Trio de la Muerte. There is a new town with sidequests and more background information about the female Tostada character is provided. Next to being the second character in cooperative multiplayer, she is now also available in the single-player. There are also hidden orbs to be found.

Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition is the third version of the game, following the PlayStation exclusive Guacamelee! and the PC exclusive Guacamelee! Gold Edition.
